Giorgio Piras - PhD student
Giorgio Piras is a PhD student at the University of Cagliari. He received is BSc degree in Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering from the University of Cagliari in July 2019, with mark 110/110.
He then received, from the same university, his MSc in Computer Engineering; Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence in July 2021, with honors, discussing the thesis entitled “On Explainability of Machine Learning DGA detectors from DNS traffic data”, supervised by Prof. Battista Biggio.
As of November 2021, he is part of the Italian national PhD in AI run by Sapienza University of Rome (in collaboration with the University of Cagliari), where he is supervised by prof. Battista Biggio.
His research interests include adversarial machine learning, explainability methods, and neural network compression techniques.
